Started in 2016, Shattered Tomorrow begins with the tell-tale premonition falling upon Link, depicting a strange woman he's never seen before in a peaceful state of stasis—before she's promptly seized by an unknown, foreboding force.

Later that same day—he meets Princen Zelda and Lady Impa, and the trio converge to find the fabled Master Sword later mysteriously and impossibly shattered.

Travelling across Dinayroré—the three of them, dubbed Hyrule's Best, set out to restore the destroyed artifact, and unravel the mystery of who, let alone how this was ever possible.
